Uber Elevate
A full system design for the next phase of Uber transportation.
Project Goal
The mission was to translate
Uber’s 90-page technical white paper into a seamless experience for users and for Uber: one that is safe, reliable and affordable.
The team’s specific goal was to design a system with tilt-wing style eVTOLs and retro-fitted parking structures.
To address this goal, key issues were grouped into THREE overarching strategies:
1. Safety, through background tracking and segmentation.
2. Efficiency, through weight reduction and seamless transitions.
3. Connectedness, through novel interactions and transparency.
After researching the area of downtown Dallas to better understand the range of parking structure sizes, anticipated complications and to select an ideal candidate.
The largest structure: on Ross st across from Dallas World Aquarium was chosen.
Our analysis of the target market resulted in three examples of user personas:
1. Sarah Goldstein - A management consultant who lives in Ft. Worth with her family.
2. Mark Lewis - An event planner and realtor
3. Megan Flores - A young engineer in downtown Dallas
From these three, Sarah stood out as a prime example of our lead user.
Sarah is characterized by her need to commute and her desire to spend more time with her family in Ft. Worth.
To drive our decision-making, we developed a Brand attitude around the keywords:
Composed, Confident, Life-Improving and Connected.
And aesthetic inspirations that incorporated transparency, gradual curves and layers.
